Questions patients ask
Can everyone have implants?
You need enough jawbone, which we check with X-rays and a 3D scan. If there is not enough bone, bone grafting or a sinus lift can make implants possible. Good general health is important for healing.
Which implant brand do you use?
We work with the Straumann Group, the Swiss world leader in premium implant systems, and give a lifetime warranty on the implants.
Is implant treatment painful?
No. Implants are placed under local anaesthesia. Afterwards any mild discomfort can be managed with paracetamol or ibuprofen.
Will I be without teeth during treatment?
No. About one week after surgery our surgeons can usually fit temporary teeth, so you look and speak normally until your final teeth are ready.
Can diabetic patients have implants?
Yes, if your blood sugar (HbA1c) is within an acceptable range and you keep good oral hygiene. We check this with a blood test before treatment.
What happens after surgery?
Do not eat for 2 hours, avoid very hot or cold food and drinks that day, use a cold compress for swelling and follow your dentist's advice. Our team stays in contact with you at the clinic and at your hotel.
