Questions patients ask
Is the All-on-4 procedure painful?
It is done under local anaesthesia or conscious sedation, so you feel no pain during treatment. Afterwards most patients feel mild soreness, similar to a tooth extraction, which passes within a few days and is easy to control with normal painkillers.
Do I need bone grafts?
Usually not. The four implants are angled into the areas of your jaw with the most bone. In cases of severe bone loss, a specialist may still recommend extra procedures – this is checked with your X-ray before you travel.
Can I eat normally?
During healing you eat soft food. Once the implants have fused with the bone, most people return to a normal diet – including many foods they had to avoid for years.
How long do All-on-4 implants last?
With good daily cleaning and regular check-ups they can last 10 to 15 years or even longer.
How do I look after them?
Very much like natural teeth: brush and clean daily, see your dentist regularly and avoid very hard or sticky foods.
